Dr. Vania Ng

Born and raised in Vancouver, Dr. Vania Ng completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. She has been in private practice since 1997 and enjoys working with her dental family, her husband, Dr. Christopher Sing, and her brother, Dr. Carter Ng. Her dental "career", however, started at the age of 7 when she began working with her father, Dr. George Ng, at his dental practice.

An avid learner and educator, Dr. Vania has been a clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC and at the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene. She was recently appointed as Assistant Professor at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and spent 3 years as a full-time educator and practitioner there. Dr. Vania holds memberships in the Canadian Dental Association, the British Columbia Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, the Chinese Canadian Dental Society, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

She has also published articles in dental journals and advances her dental knowledge by attending far more continuing education courses that what is required to hold a dental license in BC. To award her pursuits, she was granted a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2007.

Dr. Vania's practice philosophy starts with the personal relationships that she has built with her family of patients. Dr. Vania believes that improving her patients? dental health and smiles provides a positive impact on their general well being and self-confidence. She is known for her uncompromising pursuit for excellence and for her empathy and compassion for her patients.

In her free time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her husband Chris, and son Calvin. She speaks Cantonese and hopes to learn to speak Mandarin one day. A proud Vancouverite, she is looking foward to volunteer as a dentist at the 2010 Winter Olympics!

Dr. Chris Sing

Dr. Christopher Sing has a Bachelor of Science degree from UBC, a Masters of Business Administration degree from McMaster University, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He worked in the business world before coming into dentistry and also holds the designations Chartered Financial Analyst and Professional Project Manager.

Dr. Sing practiced in San Francisco before recently moving back to Vancouver where he was active in organized dentistry. He sat on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Dental Society and was also the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry representative at the Academy of General Dentistry for many years. An active learner, he is a member of a multi-disciplinary dental study club in Vancouver and enjoys many aspects of dentistry. He holds memberships in the American and Canadian Dental Associations, the BC Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

In his free time, he enjoys running, swimming, learning new things, and spending time with his wife Vania, and new son Calvin.
